What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Peachtree Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here with some of the most usual A/C problems in Atlanta.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your air conditioning system running but there isn’t cool air blowing, you might need to have your refrigerant levels analyzed. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air coming out of your system is actually cool. Call Peachtree Service Experts and we’ll come out and check your refrigerant levels and look into why your AC system is not giving off cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

One reason your condenser fan might not be rotating could be that it simply burned out and you have to replace it. Humidity could cause more condensation so an additional issue to watch for is that the water is not draining right or that the drain is restricted. If you can confirm these issues, you may be able to pinpoint the issue; if not, give Peachtree Service Experts a call and we can find out what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and go over your options to get your system cooling again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try decreasing the temperature on your thermostat. It sounds ridiculous but sometimes we forget the obvious. If that doesn’t get your A/C cooling, inspect the air filter. If the air filter is blocked, it could cause significant cooling problems. Another problem that could cause your lack of cooling is that your air conditioner is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a typical issue when homes are constructed. Peachtree Service Experts will come out and do an analysis to determine if the size of your equipment is causing your problems.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your system is short cycling, or turning on or off constantly, it could mean one of multiple things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and requires cleaning. Once the system is cleaned and all clogs removed, you may be back in business. Remember that humidity also plays a role so if your home cools to the right temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to warm up again, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because the system is having to work harder to keep your home at a lower temperature.

No matter your trouble, whatever air conditioner trouble you run into, Peachtree Service Experts is here for you 24 hours a day so we can get you comfortable quickly.
