We are making our way through the last several weeks of winter but we still need our furnaces, especially during cool nights. Nothing is worse than turning in at night just to find out your furnace won’t turn on. If this happens to you, here are a couple things you can check yourself before calling Peachtree Service Experts.
Check Air Filters
You should change standard air filters every 30 days. If you do not, they can become clogged, restricting air flow and causing your furnace to malfunction.
Check Your Thermostat
Try turning the temperature up a few degrees to get the furnace to kick on. If the current room temperature is higher than the thermostat, the furnace won’t run. Also, verify the system switch is on “heat” or “auto.”
Check the Power
It may seem silly, but verify the power switch next to the furnace is “On.” Even gas heating systems use electricity so verify the breaker has not tripped and that the power switch wasn’t accidently moved to the “Off” position.
If you check all these things and your furnace will still not turn on, give Peachtree Service Experts a call at 678-235-9699 and we’ll come out and get you taken care of as soon as possible.
