What causes indoor air pollution?
Many everyday products may contribute to poor indoor air quality in your Atlanta home.
This includes:
- Chemicals in [flooring, furniture and drapery that emit fumes
- Cleaning products
- Paint
- Personal care products
- Air fresheners and candles
Though they are often more efficient, modern homes don’t have fresh air the way older homes do. Secure weather stripping and storm doors keep inside air in and outside air out. This gives increased energy savings, but the lowered exchange of outdoor and indoor air can trigger contaminants increasing inside.
When this happens, a whole-house ventilation system is advised. Ventilation systems exchange contaminated inside air for cleaner outdoor air without giving up energy savings.
